scallanI think I've just had a bit of an epiphany. It's rather late, and I wish I'd had it years ago, but I'll try to make the most of it now that I've had it.
It's basically that I have two totally different ways of reading and learning. The one I was aware of was what I call my computer learning, where I can simply read through something and just absorb the required information. If I couldn't absorb it, I just assumed that I wasn't interested enough for it to work.
However, reading through my OU stuff, I realised that it was actually taking me a lot of effort to just read it, my mind was just skipping over the words and meaning and I was having to actually *read* the words, rather than just skim and absorb.
As a result of this, I'm going to have to totally rework the way I do my OU and other learning. I think I can manage it.
